  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate, accomplished and rapidly evolving team, you will be responsible for working closely with engineering design and manufacturing engineering to support all manufacturing efforts and equipment related to building human rated orbital launch vehicles. This includes simultaneously defining the best practices for build process and the manufacturing and assembly work that is performed on a launch vehicle module, as well as delivery and commissioning of the various sub-systems in support of programmatic budgets and schedules. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Perform structural assembly operations such as drilling, fastening, sealing, shimming in support of conceptual development and testing of design solutions.
    • Advise engineering community on best practices for structural assembly tasks as well systems assembly.
    • Support process specification development for composite and structural assembly
    • Develop training material for integration engineering teams
    • Respond to emergent operations and build execution tasks as needed
    • Maintain a development lab environment in support of manufacturing and fabrication development tasks.


    • High School Degree or Technical School
    • 15 years + as an assembly mechanic for large scale structures
    • 5 years + as an assembly mechanic lead
    • Proven expertise in emergent operations
    • Proven expertise in product development
    • Proven experience with large scale assemblies and integration of structures
    • Proven experience and successful track record leading teams in a matrix organization
    • Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


    • Experience working in a product development.
    • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma processes and implementation.
    • Aerospace/Launch vehicle experience.
    • Experience with safety critical systems
