    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will oversee all aspects of mission assurance in support of human space launch systems development and operations. You must have a passion for space related activities, strong communications skills, a demonstrated ability to act independently, and be adaptable to work on a variety of applications and systems.  This is a hands-on job, not one that can be supported from a desk. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Act as an independent advisor to company senior leadership on all matters pertaining to Blue product lines and company mission assurance
    • Provide direct leadership to maintain company work cultures that support mission success
    • Maintain and update the company mission assurance plan and related documentation
    • Establish, track, and report key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement of Blue Origin mission assurance principles
    • Participate as a non-advocate in engineering design processes at all technical levels
    • Monitor manufacturing and test activities to understand issues and constraints that affect product quality
    • Monitor flight operations to ensure compliance with launch license requirements
    • Responsible for the company Risk Management process and oversee its execution across all business units
    • Champion cause analysis and corrective action processes
    • Develop and present training materials to sustain mission assurance awareness


    • B.S. degree in engineering or science
    • 15+ years’ experience in one or more of the following:
      • Aerospace or industrial engineering
      • Space launch or spacecraft operations
      • Military or commercial aviation
    • 5+ years’ experience in mission assurance roles
    • Leadership experience with growing organizations, and workforce culture change
    • Familiarity with system safety engineering, risk management, hazard analysis methods, and root cause analysis U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review export-controlled technical information
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


    • M.S. degree in engineering or safety disciplines
    • 25+ years of total work experience
    • Aircraft or space launch vehicle mishap investigation experience
