  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance of instrumentation and controls systems for rocket launch ground systems including GSE, EGSE and facilities.  The ideal candidate would have a solid background in control system design, installation and operation with large distributed systems.  This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Act as the primary control system developer and integrator for assigned systems.
    • Serve as the control system team representative within other discipline working groups for assigned area of responsibility.
    • Review and provide input and direction to external design firms as required.
    • Review and develop safety and critical operations plans for integration into control systems.
    • Design and integration of complex control systems for safety critical equipment.
    • Preparation of electrical drawings, requirements, specifications and test plans.
    • Develop control system programs for COTS industrial controllers, HMI’s and related systems.
    • Participation in field testing of subsystems and vehicles.
    • Part sourcing and ordering of hardware.
    • Support of hardware build activities.
    • Some travel may be required.


    • BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering or science degrees with work history will be considered if experience in above responsibilities is met.
    • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience designing Aerospace or equivalent electrical control system elements and their integrated controls.
    • Experience with electro-mechanical motion control (motor or hydraulic driven).
    • Familiarity with a variety of industrial and aerospace ground control system design methods.
    • Skilled with engineering drawing applications preferably Autodesk.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and configuration control.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


    • Experience with Autocad Electrical
    • Experience with Autocad P&ID
    • Knowledge of NEC 70, NEC 70E, NFPA 79, UL508A
    • Knowledge of redundant control system design
