  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts you will lead production support activities with particular emphasis on internal supply chains.  You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the test and production for components and subsystems integrated on rocket launch vehicles and spacecraft.  This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.  

    Responsibilities

    • Increase speed and efficiency of the program by coordinating and supporting delivery of hardware to the vehicle integration team
    • Work with the internal supply chain to develop data reporting tools and dashboards to improve presentation of key program data
    • Coordination with the production team to establish aggressive but achievable production targets
    • Detailed production schedules and progress reporting against those schedules
    • Resource and capacity planning to achieve forecasted vehicle demand
    • Forecasting and developing recovery plans for constraints critical to vehicle delivery schedule
    • Direct priority and coordination of production teams (e.g., Procurement, Avionics Lab, Harness Lab, Sub-Assemblies, Environmental Test Group, Production Engineering)
    • Coordinate with Design Engineering team leads on drawing release schedules to support production readiness
    • Provide the technical interface between Production Engineering, Design Engineering and Integrated Supply Chain

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree in engineering or physics discipline
    • 8+ years experience working on aerospace development programs or production lines in both leadership and hands-on roles; experience on commercial development programs a plus
    • Project management skills consistent with leading a team including suppliers through the complex Production Transition phase
    • Possess and exhibit high judgement
    • Experience with planning, scheduling tools, MRP, ERP
    • Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    Desired

    • Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight.
    • Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager)
    • Experience in small company, startup, or growth transition environments.
    • Work knowledge of cable/ harnessing, circuit board fabrication, assembly and repair, or avionics box builds.
    • Familiarity with IPC and other industry avionics standards
    • Experience with fluids & hydraulic systems, troubleshooting and repair
    • Experience working with high pressure systems
    • Familiarity with best practices regarding safety, the use of pneumatics, and cleanliness
