    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will develop and verify the high integrity and safety critical software for various spaceflight systems. Together, our team develops the flight and ground software that controls, commands and monitors Blue Origin’s rocket engines. Our Software Integration Engineers take a leading role in making our software work in the real world. This hands-on position requires a commitment to quality and attention to detail commensurate with rocket engine testing and provides an opportunity to directly impact the history of human space exploration.


    • Collaborate with software, hardware, controls, systems, and operations engineers to produce seamlessly integrated systems
    • Implement software changes in C/C++ and Python to both flight code and test infrastructure
    • Plan, implement, and perform end-to-end software integration tests to assure engine mission success and human safety 
    • Provide real-time software technical support during ground and flight operations
    • Identify opportunities for safety improvements and operational cost savings
    • Think creatively to find the simplest solutions to problems, even if that means no software is needed at all 
    • Integrate and qualify all software products, including avionics hardware drivers, command and data handling software, and control applications
    • Develop and execute hardware-in-the-loop software tests, on-vehicle functional tests, and flight tests


    • B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related engineering with 3+ years of design experience.
    • Demonstrated experience in the design of avionics hardware and software systems
    • Strong software development skills in real-time embedded systems, particularly in C/C++
    • Highly organized team player with excellent technical written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


    • Experience in full lifecycle software development of real-time embedded system, including system design and analysis, requirement capture and development, software implementation and verification, system integration, qualification, and releasing.
    • Experience with embedded, bare metal, RTOS for micro-controller, BSP, single or multi core micro-processors
    • Experience in OO methodologies (C/C++), optimization techniques for high performance systems, profiling resource utilization
    • Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IPv4/IPv6), for distributed systems, network topologies, routing, modeling, simulation, security, encryption, compression
    • Experience with safety-critical software development
    • Familiarity with sensors and actuators, including accelerometers, pressure or temperature sensors, solenoids, servos
    • Hands on experience with Linux, GNU toolchain, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, real-time operating systems, serial communications, IP networking, SysML, GHS MULTI
