    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will manage a team of buyers responsible for the day to day sourcing, contracting, and managing suppliers for materials and the fabrication of complex spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of pricing performance and delivery schedules. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Lead and manage one of many teams of professional buyers at various levels of career experience.  Work closely with other Procurement Managers in team management.
    • Ensure the company’s documented purchasing processes and policies are followed when sourcing and purchasing goods and services.  Identify and recommend process changes that improve efficiencies, participate in leading any implementation plans.
    • Ensure business unit procurement support is ready and available for both planned and emergent work.  
    • Mentor/train employees on negotiation plans and techniques.
    • Review Purchase Requisitions for data accuracy, diligence, competition, and special flow downs or terms and conditions before award.
    • Assist with reviewing Statements of Work, Proposal packages, and Specifications before bid.  
    • Create new hire and refresher, in-person and virtual procurement training and deliver to professional buyers across four different sites. 
    • Collaborate with Enterprise Systems, Quality, Accounting, Receiving, Legal and Manufacturing for new business process improvements across four sites.
    • Identify areas where new suppliers are required, assist with evaluate potential candidates, and establish new supplier relationships.  Participates in supplier quality audits, and resolution of corrective actions with suppliers.
    • When necessary, assist in the engagement and manage third party consultants and assist team with management of contract buyers.
    • Assist with negotiations on complex procurement contracts to achieve the lowest total cost, while ensuring requirements related to technical performance, quality, delivery, and service are met.   


    • 15-20 years experience with progressive responsibility in procurement.
    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management or related field.
    • ITAR knowledge and Federal Acquisition Regulations knowledge. Strong background in defining, documenting and implementing business processes for Federal Government Contracting. Experience working in a FAR/Government contracts industry including working with DCMA, DCAA, Supplier Diversity, and leading teams through Contractor Procurement System Review.
    • Experience in supplier management, and contracts management including establishing and managing Long Term Agreements.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across multiple facilities and corporate functions.
    • Must be able to travel at least 25% of time
    • Ability to work effectively both in cross-functional teams, and independently. Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, and a proven ability to drive complex projects with aggressive schedules with minimal oversight.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


    • Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of the AS9100 Management System.
    • CPM, CSCP certification or equivalent. 
    • International sourcing experience. 
    • Expertise in sourcing for aerospace manufacturing experience with commodities such as: metal machining and forming, composites, avionics, standards, and tooling
    • Experience using Deltek Costpoint systems
