  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will design, build, and integrate prototype hardware to demonstrate new avionics technologies. Rapid development and debug is key as is documentation of the results of the development for use by the various design teams at Blue Origin. This position is an excellent opportunity to be on the leading edge of avionics hardware development. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Quick turn PCB design and development with standard tools.
    • Board support package development for embedded platforms.
    • Low noise analog design for sensor conditioning, amplification, and integration.
    • Flash memory storage management and development of error checking correcting and wear leveling.
    • Project execution planning for hardware development and prototyping.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics or related disciplines with a focus in analog, digital and/or mixed-signal design.
    • 2+ years schematic capture and PCB design experience.
    • Solid electrical engineering, digital design, analog design and lab debug skills.
    • Understanding of flash storage and flash management tools/techniques.
    • Experience using industry standard tools to design high-speed and mixed signal PCBs
    • Experience working with external board manufacturing and assembly vendors.
    • Ability to work and thrive with dynamic and changing teams on diverse projects.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    Desired

    • Linux drive and kernel development experience.
    • Graduate degree in relevant engineering or other related discipline
    • Experience doing design/test of aerospace avionics hardware.
    • Experience conducting thermal and TVAC chamber testing of electronics hardware.
    • Solid system engineering and configuration management skills
    • Experience with signal integrity, SPICE, and EMI/EMC analysis and tools
    • 2+ years MATLAB and Simulink development experience
