  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will act as a project engineer for the production of Blue Origin rocket engines. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of production and manufacturing, so relevant experience in those areas is highly desired. We are seeking a proactive, service-oriented individual with excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and analytics skills who can thrive in a fast paced environment.  You will be primarily responsible for managing the project scope of flight engine production for both internal and external customers. This includes developing, managing, and reporting on resource-loaded schedules, production budgets, staffing needs, program risk, and variances to the plan. You will work to increase the speed and efficiency of the program by supporting the timely delivery, quality, and transparency of data to support program business systems, scheduling tools, budget systems, and production planning tools. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage program plans, resource-loaded schedules, production budgets, staffing plans, programmatic risk, and hardware status, supporting both internal and external demand
    • Champion planning and execution-centered process improvements to reduce cost, shorten cycle time, improve quality, and enhance safety through risk management
    • Support Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses for critical manufacturing processes; decrease risk by driving actions to closure to minimize likelihood, severity, or occurrence of process failures
    • Collaborate with purchasing and supplier management to ensure on-time delivery of engine hardware
    • Partner with business office to ensure timely delivery of product to customer
    • Develop key program metrics (and associated reporting tools) in areas such as: budget, engineering schedules, procurement schedules, production schedules, program management status reports, and resource plans

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree (or higher) in Engineering or Manufacturing
    • 7 or more years’ experience in Aerospace Manufacturing in a Production Environment
    • Formal program/project management training, extensive PMBOK expertise
    • Experience managing complex datasets, spreadsheets, and data dashboards
    • Experience with logic-linked scheduling and cost-account management
    • Experience with risk management
    • Experience in budget management and reporting
    • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Project)
    • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) in technical work environments
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    Desired

    • MBA or MSE
    • Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager)
    • Experience with new product introduction
    • Development-to-production transition experience
    • Self-starter, strong bias for action
    • Analytical, organization, and problem solving skills
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
    • Experience with Primavera (P6), CREO, Windchill, Confluence, Jira, Tableau
