  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for all manufacturing and fabrication procedures/documents for complex tubes and welded assemblies supporting for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of tube bending ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Set-up files from CAD system and operation of CNC rotary draw bending machines while conforming to specifications in an aerospace environment
    • Ability to utilize standard inspection tools to verify parts meet print specifications - experience with vector laser vision scanning systems is required
    • Ability to verify product quality by performing 3D inspections, tool certifications, CAD comparison, dimensional analysis or reverse engineering
    • Coordinate with management, expeditors, production control and all appropriate parties to ensure work order tasks are complete and accurate
    • Ability to read blueprints and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
    • Ability to adjust, pre-fit tubes into weld fixtures for final assembly configurations
    • Wash parts by ultrasonic cleaner to ensure the parts are oil free
    • Proof pressure tubes/assemblies to meet specifications
    • Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
    • Maintain safe, clean, organized work area to ensure 5s work environment
    • Ability to work in high pressure situations under deadlines
    • General shop skills including Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements, ESD, and contamination control of precision clean systems

    Qualifications

    • High School or GED
    • Some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree/equivalent
    • 15 – 20 years CNC tube bending experience in an aerospace production environment
    • Able to operate and interpret data from Vector Scanner/FARO Arm to verify product conformance to specifications
    • 15 years Orbital Tube Welding in an aerospace production environment
    • Fully understand X,Y and Z coordinate geometry
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    Desired

    • Experience working with Stainless Steels, Inconel, Titanium and Aluminum tubing
    • Set-up and operation and troubleshooting experience on Eaton Leonard or Herber multi-axis; tube bending machines is a plus
    • Well versed in aerospace manufacturing specifications for complex tubes and welded assemblies
    • TIG Welding, tacking experience a plus
