  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will design, develop, and verify the various components that make up the electrical power systems for launch vehicles and spacecraft. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and design the development of RTL, HDL, and software; including simulation, integration, prototype bring-up and debugging, bug tracking, functional verification, test support, and review of end-use application
    • Develop system requirements and perform trade studies for safety critical, fault tolerant systems
    • Validate requirements through design test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration
    • Create interface definition, specification, and control documents
    • Maintain and report on activity schedule, budget, and technical status

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an appropriate engineering field
    • 5+ years of recent firmware/FPGA/register-transfer level development for hardware used in harsh or space environments
    • Strong SystemVerilog/VHDL development skills
    • Experience with C/C++
    • Experience integrating software, hardware, and programmable logic in embedded systems
    • Desire to work hands-on, as part of a team, in both development and production phases of a product lifecycle
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    Desired

    • Experience with batteries, power electronics, or power systems
    • Experience designing for space radiation environments
    • Experience with fault tolerant and high reliability systems
    • Experience with Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)
    • Experience with Questasim / Modelsim / Riviera-Pro simulators
    • Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, PERL, or Python
    • Familiar with designing to meet standards such as DO-254 and DO-178
    • Experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems or control systems
    • Familiarity with sensors and instrumentation including accelerometers, rate gyros, pressure, and temperature sensors
    • Experience with ARM based MCUs and SoCs, Xilinx FPGAs, and Actel/Microsemi FPGAs
