    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team, you will push the boundaries of what’s possible in Facilities Planning and Construction as a visionary and hands-on leader. This position demands a strong and experienced leader who can meet aggressive goals and schedules in a dynamic environment. This position requires considerable judgment and latitude in performing job duties and is expected to function effectively with minimal supervision. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Plan, direct, manage and oversee the design and construction of Blue Origin’s new Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, Alabama.
    • Prepare, review and understand contract, procurement and technical documents and requirements.
    • Monitor contractor progress and performance, review and approve invoices, and resolve payment and project disputes.
    • Negotiate with outside vendors, contractors and consultants; Generate Statements of Work, Requests for Proposals and Support the Development of Facility Requirements Documents.
    • Procure pricing from contractors and vendors, ensure accuracy and completeness, and develop should-cost estimates.
    • Develop project schedules, track critical path, and project key performance indicators.
    • Manage project budget, track variances and report status.
    • Coordinate with key stakeholders and customers on requirements, and manage the disposition of Requests for Information
    • Provide recurring detailed reports and communications to senior executive leaders on facilities construction projects
    • Collaborate with General Counsel and Procurement on project risk management, contract provisions, terminologies and dispute issues.


    • Previous experience (10+ years) in directing the construction and planning of multi-million dollar manufacturing facilities.
    • Advanced Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent 
    • Experience with Project Planning and Controls
    • Knowledge in construction contracts
    • Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, principles and practices
    • Proficient with Excel, Power Point, Word, Project and P6; data driven and strong presentation skills.
    • Previously demonstrated strong performance as a people leader.
    • Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
    • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of the organization
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    • Ability to work effectively at all levels and depths of the organization from performing high touch, hands-on, get it done tasks, to providing strategic direction and planning
