  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for qualification, in-process and acceptance test campaigns of pneumatic and fluids-based spaceflight components and subassemblies. You will share in the overall impact of manufacturing, testing, and delivering hardware for the New Glenn Orbital system. The primary responsibility will be to own individual component test campaigns, seeing the components through from fabrication to delivery. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Own qualification and acceptance test campaigns of cryogenic, pressurized, and pneumatic flight hardware to meet an aggressive on-time delivery goal.
    • Author and maintain detailed and repeatable test procedures.
    • Conduct and/or oversee several test campaigns simultaneously to support production schedules.
    • Define, procure, setup, and maintain test fixtures, test support equipment and data acquisition systems.
    • Identify, procure and drive efficiency gains in all facets of the test campaigns to reduce flow time while maintaining a high safety and successful testing mindset.
    • Conduct in-process verification and final data reviews to ensure successful component qualification and acceptance.
    • Work with existing company initiatives to implement automated data collection and data reduction platforms.
    • Be accountable for defects present in hardware that trace back to testing process control and drive corrective actions to ensure that they are conclusively addressed.
    • Identify, communicate, and mitigate cost, schedule and technical risks.
    • Participate in Task Readiness Reviews and Job Hazard Assessments.


    • B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or other relevant field.
    • 3+ years of applicable industry experience.
    • Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail and level of organization.
    • Successfully managed budgets and schedules of simultaneous projects.
    • Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor.
    • Passion for spaceflight and space exploration.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


    • 5+ years of applicable industry experience.
    • Demonstrated technical expertise in operation, testing or production of:
      • Pressurized Gas Systems
      • Cryogenics
      • Fluid Systems
      • Instrumentation and controls
    • Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis, processing and reduction techniques.
    • Direct experience designing, operating or testing pneumatic and/or cryogenic hardware.
    • Strong knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and fittings.
    • Experience with data acquisition and automations systems (LABVIEW, NI TestStand, etc.).
    • Experience with Environmental Testing (proof, leak, vibration, thermal, etc.) per SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540D or MIL-STD-810G.
