  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will design, develop, and test combustion devices for various liquid rocket engines. You will share the team's impact on all aspects of combustion devices life cycle. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. 

    Responsibilities

    • Engage in the entire design cycle of combustion devices including trade studies, design and analysis, production, assembly, test support and data review
    • Production definition from CAD to engineering drawing
    • Hardware development including assembly, fabrication, verification and test
    • Analyze engine hotfire test data and support subsequent data reviews
    • Generate component characterization reports and support engine requirements verification 
    • Develop and improve technical processes and tools in the combustion devices design and development cycle
    • Identify, communicate, and mitigate technical, cost and schedule risks
    • Lead and support failure investigation and root cause analysis

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a B.S. degree in an engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, or physics desired)
    • Working knowledge of a variety of liquid rocket engine combustion devices
    • 8-10 years of experience in a liquid rocket component or engine testing environment
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering standards and technical requirements
    • Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis and data processing
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    Desired

    • M.S degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical or physcis desired) or higher 
    • Strong technical fundamentals in fluids, thermodynamics, combustion analysis
    • Strong knowledge of combustion devices design process, hardware fabrication techniques and analysis
    • Strong knowledge of different functions in combustion devices development and tools
    • Knowledge of the entire combustion devices life cycle from development, qualification, acceptance and production
