  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will lead the development of manufacturing test systems for spaceflight avionics. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of avionics production quality assurance. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Devise the comprehensive manufacturing test system approach to satisfy all business needs for Blue Engines Avionics volume production
    • Create comprehensive test systems architecture including hardware, software, data schema, and quality assurance features
    • Collaborate broadly with internal and external avionics and test system stakeholders
    • Create and execute test system life cycle project plans
    • Manage internal and external resources and suppliers
    • Drive Design-for-Test (Dft) features of avionics controller hardware and software
    • Support rocket engine ground and flight test
    • Process owner for production test readiness reviews
    • Process owner for test system qualification

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering
    • 10+ years of relevant experience that includes:
      • Five or more full projects for electronics hardware development and test
      • Test system outsourcing to and integration with contract manufacturers
      • Advanced and current hardware and software design of production test systems
      • Expert programmer in C# and C++ in .Net frameworks
    • Ability to break down complex avionics designs and develop test systems and processes with broad capability across various test types, UUT functions, project phases and locations
    • Demonstrated understanding of test engineering tools, methods, standards and techniques
    • Demonstrated understanding of metrology, measurement error and uncertainty, and test method validation
    • Experience working in an FAA regulated environment
    • Understanding of applicable requirements and standards
    • Experience complying with AS9100 quality system requirements
    • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.

    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    Desired

    • Proficient in multi-purpose enterprise level test tool development
    • Proficient in test system development for space applications
    • Proficient with establishing new test system development engineering process frameworks
    • Experience working in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration labs (SIL)
