    As a part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for structural design, analysis and implementation of solutions to meet customer payload requirements.  You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the payload accommodations including structures, mechanical systems, manufacturing, vehicle integration, launch operations and customer interface. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Interface with payload customers to evaluate mission unique requirements and ensure compliance
    • Conceptual design and layout of launch vehicle structures
    • Preliminary structural and mechanical analysis of integrated vehicle and payload
    • Detail design of structural and mechanical installations and support equipment
    • Develop and manage systems interfaces
    • Support development of concepts of operations
    • Maintain and report on activity schedule, budget and technical status
    • Coach, mentor and technically assist other engineers
    • Vendor selection and management
    • Identify opportunities for operational cost savings
    • This position will be located in Kent, WA


    • B.S. degree in engineering with a background in aerospace/aeronautical field
    • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with current SSBI & SCI Eligibility
    • Experience with structural and mechanical design
    • Experience using CAD and FEA-based analysis software (Creo and ANSYS preferred)  
    • Demonstrated experience on launch vehicles, aircraft, or defense industry
    • Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


    • Experience with composite structural design and analysis techniques
    • Knowledge of aerospace vehicle fabrication and assembly techniques and related quality control concepts
    • Ability to interpret and apply high-level system requirements to practical design solutions
