  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will work hand in hand with process and manufacturing engineers to develop new, and refine existing, robotic and CNC equipment for several large scale tooling solution in support of New Glenn program demand for tooling and automation.  In this hands-on position, you will participate in conceptual development of the tooling and manufacturing solutions, design and/or draft specification for controls in relation to the tooling solution, oversee and manage performance of tooling package internally and extenrally, work with the equipment through trials and production introduction, as well as deliver specifications and instructions to the operators and other personnel to ensure the systems are functional and robust. We seek people who are passionate about space and possess a strong desire to continuously learn and improve. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Participate in the specification for new robotic and CNC systems/controls

    • Support existing robotic and CNC systems with programming expertise

    • Retrofit existing equipment with additional functionality as required

    • Design and integrate new automated machines

    • Operate equipment as needed

    • Online and offline robotic programming

    • Deliver process specifications and instructions to production personnel


    • B.S. degree or higher in mechanical engineering or relevant field

    • 5+ years’ experience with automated systems in a manufacturing environment

    • Expert understanding of robotic systems, PLCs, and the safe operation and integration of both

    • Ability to either work directly with integrators or with the robot OEM to specify new systems for novel rocket part processing

    • Expert level operation and programming (online/offline) of robotic based systems (online-coding and CAM)

    • Knowledge in the use of 3D CAD tools

    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)


    • Siemens and/or Kuka robotic language (KRL) online and CAM offline programming experience

    • Integration of different controllers

    • Machine Debugging and troubleshooting

    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    • Ability to set-up large scale tooling and equipment

    • Some travel to our launch sites may be required as needed
