  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will develop navigation software for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of design, integration, and qualification of high-integrity and safety-critical embedded software. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Development and implementation of embedded software including device drivers, firmware, and user space applications in C/C++.
    • Conduct end-to-end navigation software integration and testing including simulation, hardware-in-the-loop and ground testing.
    • Support navigation system architecture trade studies, analyses, performance characterization and specification, device selection, and controller roadmap direction.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree in aerospace, computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering.
    • 5+ years of software development and integration experience in C/C++
    • Experience with low-level C/C++ development on microcontrollers and SoCs
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    Desired

    • Experience working with Navigation sensors such as IMU’s, GPS, LIDAR, star trackers, etc.
    • Experience with bare metal, RTOS and multithreaded embedded programming
    • Advanced knowledge in designing, testing and flying aerospace navigation systems for rockets, missiles, spacecraft, and/or aerodynamic reentry systems.
    • Experience with FPGA HDL Coding
    • Graduate degree in related engineering or technical field with 8+ years of direct experience in embedded software development.
    • Exposure to designing safety or mission critical aerospace flight hardware compliant with DO-178C.
