  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will lead, represent, and support the team that does engine test and validation activities for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of engine test and validation. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Hiring and development of Responsible Engineers (RE) and Subject Matter Experts (SME)
    • Allocating engineers to programs to meet program needs
    • Establishing, monitoring, documenting and improving (full life cycle ownership) of processes specific to Engine Validation and Test. This includes process tailoring and risk assessments for programs
    • Employee life-cycle including hiring, performance management, work management, training, and career growth
    • Setting the direction for the development of technology in Engine Validation and Test (Road Mapping)
    • Being a non-advocate SME for programs during reviews and failure investigations

    Qualifications

    • BS. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 10+ years’ experience in liquid rocket engine requirements and specification management and/or liquid rocket engines testing
    • Working knowledge of engine components and engine systems validation and test
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    Desired

    • Familiarity with rocket engine system operations and validation process
    • Familiarity with engine test planning and risks management
