  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate, accomplished and rapidly evolving team, you will be responsible for working closely with engineering design and company leadership to support all manufacturing efforts and equipment related to building human rated orbital launch vehicles. This includes simultaneously defining the build process and handling specialized equipment, planning and executing the manufacturing and assembly work that is performed on a launch vehicle module, as well as delivery and commissioning of the various new facilities, sub-systems in support of programmatic budgets and schedules. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Must be “hands on” and assist in completing facility maintenance on technical processes
    • Proven experience and successful track record leading teams in a matrix organization
    • Proven experience with large scale assemblies and construction activities for spacecraft manufacturing or repair activities
    • Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor
    • Setup new production work areas, including layouts, chem-labs, laser labs, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, tooling and specialty equipment setup, etc.
    • Project manage, supervise and coordinate the work of contractors
    • Develop all capital and occupancy financial letters of justifications requesting authorization for additional funding
    • Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles and or quall tests for facility validation processes
    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or construction maintenance
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
    • Support facility checkouts such as cleanroom ops, thermal, delta pressure, vacuum systems, GN2/LN2 fluid line leak checks and UPS systems for power-on system checks
    • Forecasting and developing recovery plans for constraints critical to facility delivery schedule
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
    • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)


    • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or equivalent directly related years of service
    • 15 years plus experience with building construction management and or facility maintenance work in an aerospace environment
    • Experience working in a facility construction type product design or manufacturing environment.
    • Must be proficient with national electrical code, NFPA, Southern Standard Building Code, Miami Dade County building Code as well as ADA requirements
    • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma processes and implementation
    • Experience with safety critical systems and CFR standards and regulations
    • Experience with assembly and facility subsystems including avionics, fluids, cleanrooms, high pressure test cells and mechanical systems.
    • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures in order to construct facilities to meet production needs.
    • Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
    • Extremely customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skills
    • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distance
    • Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
    • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it
    • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight
    • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.


    • Complete understanding of CFR standard 1901.12, 1910 - 1910.440  (Occupational Safety and Health Standards)
