  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts the Integration Engineer (IE) will be responsible for facility construction/modification support, test article integration for rocket engine testing activities, facility operation, repairs, and maintenance for various spaceflight systems. The IE must be a self-starter, professional, highly-motivated, and a team player. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Test facility construction, operation, and maintenance:
      • Fabrication, installation, and checkout of wire harnesses and instrumentation
      • Work with data acquisition systems and controls
      • Test article integration and checkout
      • General trouble shooting of instrumentation, fluid components, etc.
      • Fabrication and routing of pressurization and propellant tubing
      • Operation of test facility
      • Reviewing, editing, and following test procedures
    • Working with engineers on design concepts/improvements and development tests
    • Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations
    • Providing design feedback on the test stand and test article(s)
    • Safely working with electricity, hazardous chemicals, hydraulics, cryogenics, and high pressure systems

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience in rocket engine test facility support, testing rocket or jet engines, or closely related applications
    • Direct experience working with instrumentation, sensors, and electronics
    • Demonstrated ability to work with:
      • Test, flight, and safety critical hardware
      • Standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment
    • Experience with pneumatic systems, propellant loading and off-loading systems
    • Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including hydrogen peroxide, RP, and cryogenics
    • Ability to build to a P&ID, including selection of components based on pressures, temperatures, ranges, and materials.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    Desired

    • 7+ years’ experience in propulsion facility/system or launch vehicle operation, integration, or maintenance
    • Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety
    • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
    • MIG/TIG, orbital welding experience
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings - GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
