  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will perform the design, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of systems associated with rocket engine test stands and space vehicle launch facilities. Typical systems include high pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Design piping systems associated with high pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems
    • Coordinate with suppliers on costs, schedule, and technical design requirements
    • Oversee fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified systems at any Blue Origin site.
    • Perform analysis of new or modified designs
    • Create model and drawings of designs
    • Provide input on cost, schedule and technical requirements to internal customers
    • Up to 25% Travel at times


    • Extensive experience with ProEngineer /Creo with Windchill and ProPiping
    • Knowledge of ASME B31 and B31.3
    • Experience creating fabrication and installation drawings using ProE/Creo
    • Experience in design and analysis of piping/tubing systems, experience using analysis tools specific to piping (CAEPipe, Bentley AutoPipe, CEASAR,…etc) 
    • Knowledge of standard components, installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, structural members, fitting, welding, etc)
    • Knowledge of fluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps, etc)
    • 4 yr engineering degree or higher
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


    • Advanced Engineering degree
    • 7 years or greater relevant experience
    • Experience with Autocad or Autocad P&ID
    • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance preferred
    • Knowledge of precision cleaning processes / levels and passivation of stainless steel
