  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will manage JIRA, provide support to our engineers and staff, and administer other Atlassian related technology solutions. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of Enterprise Technology. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Become familiar with current setup/structure/configuration of current Jira implementation
    • Evaluate and manage the usage of Atlassian add-ons
    • Build on existing methods and considerable momentum within Blue Origin to enable various teams to fully realize the potential of JIRA
    • Lead the administration of JIRA, including creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, custom fields, dashboard configurations, and integration with external databases, APIs, and other internal tool chains
    • Identify the areas within Blue Origin where there is the greatest potential for benefits to speeding the execution through use of JIRA and other Atlassian tools
    • Lead, serve, train, develop, and evangelize the use of JIRA in those highest priority areas
    • Responsible for the Set-Up/Maintenance/Optimization/Configuration of Jira as needed Including:

    o Testing/Sandbox/POC
    o Production Setup, Workflows
    o Trouble-Shooting and Ad Hoc refinement
    o New Users / Deactivation of off-boarding users
    o Roles & Permissions
    o Project Setup

    o Responsible for setup/integration/maintenance of any 3rd party software/plug-ins introduced into the relevant ecosystem

    • Work closely with the relevant teams to optimize workflows and ensure necessary data is accessible and clean
    • When new workflows, etc. are decided upon, understand all business needs and requirements to set things in motion and refine the system to fit corporate needs
    • Training of relevant teams in usage of systems in question

    Qualifications

    •  B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Arts, or Engineering
    •  Expert level tool administration knowledge on JIRA and proficiency in the Atlassian tool suite with 5 or more years experience. Three or more of those years in JIRA administration
      Hands on experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency and effectiveness
    •  Service oriented mindset with passion for identifying and serving needs of others
    • High energy, ability to train, ability to effect change in an organization
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    Desired

    • 5+ years of experience in the design, configuration, implementation and maintenance of applications; Jira/Confluence
    • Understanding of databases including MySQL and Primavera P6
    • Knowledge of project management (both agile and waterfall)
