  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for shipment of all commodities and aerospace hardware to support internal and external customer requirements. Inventory control, receiving inspection, shipping and logistics functions for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of inventory management for assigned parts and processes required to ensure material input to support customer requirements while financial inventory objectives are accomplished. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
    • Establish policy and procedures for oversight areas and standardize methodologies across various geographic sites.
    • Develop and update documentation pertaining to department policies, plans, processes and procedures in compliance with AS9100 and Blue Origin standards.
    • Provides support to production scheduling and procurement on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
    • Responsible for personnel actions.
    • Oversee inventory control through execution of physical inventory and cycle counts.
    • Act as a focal point and monitor assigned areas to ensure material delivery dates meet production needs.
    • Interface with stakeholders to identify and coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, and excess materials.
    • Anticipate potential problems and risks, and generates ideas, insight and solutions to resolve or mitigate potential problems, followed by decisive action to implement solutions.
    • Demonstrate effective collaboration skills by open communication and sharing of pertinent business information to all departments.

    Qualifications

    • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience with emphasis in supply chain management and/or engineering and at least 8-10 years of progressively responsible materials control experience including inventory, receiving inspection, shipping, and logistics.
    • Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS office and ability to learn new software/programs as opportunities or department needs arise. 
    • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. Experience with MES and PLM systems a plus.
    • Knowledge of materials management theories, processes and practices.
    • Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers and suppliers that includes a strong focus on teamwork and internal/external customer satisfaction.

    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
    • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and primary responsibilities.
    • Strong analytical, conceptual, and negotiation skills.

    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder).
