  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will work with engineers and technicians to support additive manufacturing processing for various spaceflight systems. You’ll manage a production schedule, design and commission new tooling, maintain equipment CAD models, evaluate new-part setup and flow, and coordinating maintenance and repairs for the additive manufacturing equipment. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Prepare part build files using CAD software (Pro/E or Creo, Materialise Magics, 3matic)
    • Evaluate the build risk
    • Devise successful build strategy
    • Advise and document to RE’s and AE’s of build risk analysis in ITS
    • Advise and document to RE’s and AE’s of build recommended geometry changes needed to lessen the possible build failure.
    • Follow standardized file systems, traceability documentation
    • Meeting both quality and schedule expectations
    • Help to develop new and improved build parameters while not sacrificing the part quality.
    • Rapidly design support structures for printed components taking into account factors like heat input/warpage, surface finish, process efficiency, and final requirement conformance
    • Follow a standardized workflow that maximizes part quality, machine up-time and production throughput
    • Trouble shoot machine issues and offer advice per past machine experiences. Document finding in the AM Wiki.
    • Contact machine vendors when experiencing machine issues not yet seen before. Document findings in the AM Wiki.


    • An attitude of world-class quality, attention to detail, and dedication
    • Demonstrated track record of resourcefulness from their previous assignments
    • 1-3 years’ experience with one or more of the following software  CAD software (Pro/E or Creo, Materialise Magics, 3matic)
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


    • Training or experience working with metal additive manufacturing machines
    • 1-3 years of hands on build experience in an AM facility
    • Experience with 3-D CAD data – viewing, interrogation and or use for design
    • Experience in an R&D environment, preferably in aerospace, medical devices, or other engineered products
    • Experience cutting, mounting, polishing, and etching metallographic specimens
    • Experience in a small company and/or startup environment
