  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you’ll develop an integrated manufacturing system leveraging state of the art manufacturing processes.You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of manufacturing, testing, and delivering hardware for the New Glenn Orbital system. You’ll be responsible for high-efficiency invention, evolution, and stable execution of advanced manufacturing processes.  Interfacing with design and analysis engineers, test engineers, machine and process operators, manufacturing engineers, process engineers, enterprise tool developers, and equipment and material vendors, you’ll identify requirements and opportunities for data, tools, equipment and workflow automation. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will required your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage Manufacturing-related Projects
    • Production Support - Production scheduling, budgets and forecasts, employee involvement, defect analysis and benchmarking analysis, core competency definition, make/buy evaluations, crew cycling.
    • Process Improvement - Lean Manufacturing, theory of constraints engineering economic analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, statistical methods, Six Sigma, time studies, waste reduction, and work sampling
    • Operations improvement - Ergonomic and human factors, Operations Plans, Recovery planning, Capacity planning, Capital planning
    • Integrated Systems - Value Stream Analysis, facility layouts, production systems design, manufacturing process design, systems thinking

    Qualifications

    • BS in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
    • 5+ years of experience
    • Experience working in a production environment
    • Must be a US citizen of permanent resident (current Green Card holder).

    • Experience transitioning development to production
    • Manned space flight production experience
    • Strong teaming skills
    • Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes
