  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts the Corporate Physical Security Manager will lead and direct security measures necessary for implementing applicable requirements of government and industry standards and best practices. This position will lead the Blue Origin physical security program for multiple geographically separated manufacturing, operations, and administrative facilities and will have a direct impact on the future organization. The position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. 

    Responsibilities

    • Knowledge of physical security surveys, risk assessment/management/mitigation methodologies
    • Knowledge of construction and architectural principles, including scheduling, cost benefit analysis, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, and site hardening
    • Knowledge of site access and perimeter delineation, security lighting, and physical barrier systems
    • Execute Physical Security duties and responsibilities within Blue Origin’s facilities (including IC and DoD sponsored secure areas)
    • Develop and update Security Policies, Plans, and Processes, including Emergency Action Plans and general guidance for all Blue Origin locations
    • Manage facility Access Control Systems (ACS) and oversee facility access processes and procedures.
    • Manage Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) protecting all Blue Origin facilities including secure areas.
    • Ensure monitoring of all Blue Origin facilities through Video Surveillance Systems, badging and other monitoring technologies.
    • Investigate intrusion incidents, coordinate with guard/response forces and/or local or federal law enforcement, oversee corrective actions, and prepare reports for internal and external coordination addressing investigation results, culpability, impact assessment and future mitigation as applicable.
    • Lead Physical Security Assessments to meet government and industry best practices.
    • Manage and train physical security staff including personnel responsible for monitoring access to Blue Origin Facilities
    • Manage contractors and consultants including those performing IDS monitoring, security operations centers, guard and response forces, etc.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree plus 5 year’s minimum experience, or
    • Bachelor's Degree in related field plus 10 years experience, or
    • High School Diploma with 15 year’s minimum experience
    • Experience with integrated security systems (IDS, ACS, and Video Surveillance Systems)
    • Proficient at oral and written communication skills
    • Must be highly organized, able to prioritize tasking as well as multi-task, and willing to work in a team environment
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)

    Desired

    • Active Top Secret Clearance
    • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification
    • Experience with Intelligence Community (IC) and/or Department of Defense (DoD) facility security standards and requirements
    • Experience with Supply Chain Risk Management
    • Experience in managing ITAR programs
