As a part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be performing analysis on large steel and aluminum structures and be an analysis focal for critical tooling packages used in fabricatio and assembly of the vehicle as well as Ground Support Equipment (GSE) required to support an orbital launch site, and launch and recovery of an orbital launch vehicle for various spaceflight systems.

You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of structural analysis. You will be focused on providing the design engineers with an understanding of the proper load cases, FEM development, performing detailed analysis, as well as mentoring team members in the area of structural analysis for GSE development. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.



  • Detailed analysis of the manufacturing facility fabrication and assembly tooling
  • Detailed analysis of the orbital launch facility’s ground support equipment
  • Supporting facility development and trade studies
  • Improving enterprise analysis capabilities such as creating process automation tools for model creation, strength checks, and analysis report generation
  • Mentoring designers and junior structural analysts in structural analysis best practices
  • Identification of opportunities for safety improvements and operational cost savings


  • B.S. degree in engineering and M.S. degree in structural or civil engineering and 8+ years of experience designing structural engineering projects – emphasis in steel design preferred
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)
  • Load path definition and strength analysis per LRFD and/or ASD code
  • Structural loading calculations (ASCE-7, OSHA, IBC)
  • Construction techniques, material selection, and testing
  • Project management experience and the ability to communicate technical concepts in an accessible manner
  • Demonstrated expertise with one or more of the following finite element analysis codes: ANSYS, Nastran, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, Cosmos
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis


  • Professional civil engineering license (SE license is not required)
  • Demonstrated process automation experience using scripting languages is highly desired (VBA, MATLAB, Python, FORTRAN, etc)
  • Experience with design and analysis of mechanisms and lifting fixtures
