  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the overall development of avionics software for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of flight avionics systems development. The scope of the avionics includes development or procurement of flight software, integration, and verification, system safety analyses, interacting with cross-functional teams, responsible for schedule, budget, and cost management. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Develop software architecture, requirements, suited for safety critical, fault tolerant systems
    • Performing trade studies for evaluation, demonstration, development of high performance computing platforms for space applications
    • Rapid prototype to prove out the architecture/design concepts, quantify technical risks
    • Produces technical documentation for software architecture, design, verification plans
    • Coordinates with cross-functional (Vehicle System Architects, GNC, Structure, Mechanical, Mission Ops) teams
    • Supports System Safety Analysis, FHA, ASA, FMECA, FTAs, develop FDIR approach
    • Simulation, modeling, design of system architecture
    • Develop flight software, including integration and verification



    • B.S degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering or an appropriate field
    • 10+ years of relevant experience in the design, development, testing, operations of launch vehicles and subsystems
    • Demonstrated experience in the design of avionics hardware and software systems
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


    • Experience with embedded, bare metal, RTOS for micro-controller, BSP, single or multi core micro-processors
    • Experience in OO methodologies (C/C++), optimization techniques for high performance systems, profiling resource utilization
    • Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IPv4/IPv6), for distributed systems, network topologies, routing, modeling, simulation, security, encryption, compression
    • Experience with software development for safety critical systems
