As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will help design and develop rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet Blue Origin’s launch vehicle program requirements for various spaceflight systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


  • Develop Finite Element Models based on interaction with the design and engine system analysis team.
  • Run FEM Simulations of rocket engine hardware including turbomachinery, manifolds, and thrust chambers
  • Use FEM to support test and failure investigations
  • Improve existing analytical capabilities, including process automation tools
  • Develop best practices for analysis methods
  • Provide guidance to design engineers to improve the performance of designs
  • Communicate analysis results to the team


  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 5+ years of experience in finite element modeling
  • Experience with structural modeling of rocket engine hardware or similar high performance hardware
  • Excellent understanding of structural analysis/mechanics
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
  • Ability to communicate analysis results effectively
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information


  • Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical is strongly desired. 
  • Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc)
