    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will take responsibility for all aspects of the environmental, health, and safety of Blue Origin’s people and facilities for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of improving a safety culture and building agile safety processes. You must have a passion for solving complex problems, providing operable solutions, and you must be capable of acting with minimal direction on your own initiative. You will be responsible for helping to maintain a corporate culture that emphasizes accountability, discipline, and attention to detail at all levels. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Provide subject matter expertise to engineering and production resources related to EHS
    • Ensure safety and health compliance with local, state and federal regulations at the Orbital Launch Site including, but not limited to: OSHA General Industry, Construction, and Maritime
    • Ensure environmental compliance with local, state and federal regulations at the Orbital Launch Site including, but not limited to: NEPA, RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, NPDES
    • Prepare and submit reports to federal and state regulatory agencies, as required
    • Continually update and ensure compliance with the Blue Origin Health and Safety Manual
    • Create, update, and coordinate emergency response plans with state and local emergency planning committees
    • Indoctrinate new employees on our EHS Program
    • Manage hazardous waste activities for the Orbital Launch site
    • Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions
    • Develop, update, and deliver EHS training
    • Evaluate operations for continuous process improvement and implementation of preventive action measures
    • Conducting PPE assessments and supporting development of job hazard analyses
    • Perform periodic audits of our EHS Programs


    • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering, chemistry, industrial hygiene, or occupational safety
    • 5 years in safety or environmental roles
    • Knowledge of applicable safety and Florida environmental regulations
    • Knowledge of process safety management methods
    • Knowledge of close call reporting practices and processes
    • Candidate must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds. Must be able to physically climb multiple flights stairs, withstand prolonged standing, and work in adverse weather conditions
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


    • 8+ years total work
    • Experience in operational aerospace environment or oil and gas or chemical industry
    • Expertise in Life Safety Code (NFPA 101)
    • HAZMAT and/or emergency response team experience
    • ASP,CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification
    • Familiarity with AFSPCMAN 91-710 and/or FAA Part 431 regulations
    • Experience working in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
    • Familiarity with exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
