    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for compensation, benefits, rewards and recognition, internal mobility and perks. You will define and scale our total rewards strategy to ensure market competitiveness, alignment to our values and drive business performance. 


    As our total rewards subject matter expert and leader, you will partner with cross functional teams including Payroll, Accounting, IT, Recruiting, HR and business units to define and implement total rewards strategy and programs.


    You are highly process and data oriented, love to drive change and performance within an organization, and thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment.  This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Leads creation, refinement and implementation of our total rewards philosophy and strategy.
    • Leads all compensation and rewards related processes and programs, including compensation and promotion cycles, incentive administration, job leveling, equity, 401k, pay decisions, trainings, and other ad-hoc projects.
    • Oversees all benefits strategies and overall administration of benefit plans in partnership with benefit broker to review plan designs, manage the annual renewal process, control costs and recommend enhancements.
    • Performs regular market and internal analyses to ensure competitiveness and equity of our compensation and benefits.
    • Partners with external vendors as needed to conduct market research and special projects.
    • Monitors the effectiveness of the total rewards programs recommending plan revisions as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with external trends and company objectives.
    • Owns HR metrics related to compensation and benefits and provides support on analytics for HR scorecard and other reporting.
    • Keeps apprised of federal, state and local compensation and benefits laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
    • Provides advice to HR Business Partners on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
    • Oversees the rewards and recognition program including budget management and approvals, development and execution of the communication strategy.
    • Reviews requests for job classification review and makes classification/pay level recommendations.
    • Ensures medical and retirement plans are administered in accordance with plan, IRS, and ERISA rules. Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations and ensures timeliness and accuracy of required filings.
    • Oversees the 401K plan including partnering with the plan administrator on testing and Form 5500 submissions.
    • Responsible for all aspects of leave such as PTO, STD, FML, and Workers Compensation.
    • Conducts Manager training and provides support as needed relating to total rewards programs.
    • Manages one Benefits Specialist.


    • Bachelor degree required.
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR, with significant concentration in total rewards including compensation and benefits. 3+ years of management experience.
    • Human Resources, Benefits, or Compensation Certification is preferred such as CEBS, MCCP, A/CCP, CBP, CECP, or PHR, SHRM-CP.
    • Experience with medical, dental, life, STD, LTD insurances, working with brokers, and multiple providers.
    • Experience with both exempt and non-exempt compensation practices, including production labor and multiple work shifts including complex overtime arrangements.
    • Experience designing and administering complex rewards programs (base comp, executive comp, sales comp, variable comp/merit, options, and benefits) for innovative, multi-state high tech companies of >2000 people.
    • Experience defining a total rewards philosophy, and defining company specific strategy for rewards that support values, business goals, and culture.
    • Ability to influence, engage and partner closely with appropriate business partners across all levels of the organization.
    • Expert knowledge of benefit and retirement programs including project management, enrollment, vendor management, auditing, filings, training, education, and communication.
    • Knowledge of federal laws and regulations related to the administration of compensation and benefit programs; required knowledge of compensation theories and practical applications.
    • Significant knowledge of benefit administration and benefit structure.
    • Significant knowledge of job description creation and job grading methodology.
    • Strong cross functional collaboration, project management, analytical and time management skills.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, contracts, and legal documents.
    • Ability to effectively present information to executive management, large groups of employees and/or customers, professional organizations and/or boards of directors.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and statistics.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word); to include advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot-Tables, VLookUps, MACROs, etc)
    • Excellent communications with the ability influence and negotiate with individuals at all levels.
    • Cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work well with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels - team player with low-ego.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)
