    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will develop and verify the high integrity and safety critical software for various spaceflight systems.  Together, our team develops the flight, experimental payload and ground software that controls, commands and monitors autonomous spacecraft.  This hands-on position requires a commitment to quality and attention to detail commensurate with safe human spaceflight and provides an opportunity to directly impact the history of human space exploration. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


    • Develop real-time, high-integrity software to command, control, and monitor human-capable spacecraft
    • Trade and design software architectures for launch vehicle systems, spaceflight avionics hardware, and guidance and control software
    • Develop software requirements and companion verification methods to satisfy system level requirements
    • Collaborate with engineers responsible for interfaced systems and cultivate a deep understanding of such systems
    • Write clear, efficient, and testable code to implement designs in C/C++
    • Develop and execute unit tests, on-target integration tests, and hardware-in-the-loop tests
    • Support vehicle functional testing and flight operations
    • Perform code coverage analysis to meet safety-critical software standards
    • Identify opportunities for safety improvements and operational cost savings
    • Conduct trade studies, design and benchmark prototype solutions
    • Gather and improve upon technical performance measures including CPU utilization and memory consumption


    • Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science, mathematics, aerospace, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
    • Demonstrable software development experience
    • Strong software development skills, particularly in C/C++
    • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Innovative problem solver with an interest in spacecraft systems development
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)


    • M.S. or other advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics or related field
    • 3+ years of software development experience of real-time embedded systems or control systems
    • Experience with real-time and/or safety-critical software development
    • Familiarity with vehicle attitude and position sensors, launch vehicle sensors, hydraulic or electromechanical actuation systems, including GPS, accelerometers, rate gyros, pressure or temperature sensors, solenoids, servos, etc.
    • Familiarity with FPGA development
