  • Overview

    As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of learning professionals, you will use your expertise in emerging delivery methods to create full-spectrum learning offerings that develop leadership skills in all employees at Blue. Combining face-to-face classroom sessions with technology tools, you will deliver complex, learner-centric leadership programs with a focus on assessment and performance. You will work with a variety of instructional designers and subject matter experts to create informal, formal, and certification-track online and hybrid courses for highly technical (we build rockets, after all) and leadership topics. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. This position reports into the Human Resources team, and provides instructional design services to all areas of the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with Instructional Designers to conduct needs analyses for complex training programs
    • Facilitate discovery sessions with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams.
    • Evaluate data and organizational needs to identify learning and development issues. Work with the department management to design and implement improvements.
    • Propose innovative learning solutions supported by adult learning theory.
    • Ensure that learning delivery is of highest quality and exceed the needs of the internal learning customer.
    • Provide input into work plan creation, advising on time and resources necessary to create a learning solution.
    • Provide input into assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions using key performance metrics.
    • Follow a modular, standardized process to create learner-centered, performance-based training that is flexible, adaptable, and scales gracefully
    • Manage multiple, complex projects with tight deadlines and time-critical deliverables through their entire life cycle

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, communication, psychology, or related discipline that focuses on learning delivery
    • 5+ years delivering courses using standard instructional materials in a technical environment covering a variety of technical and management/leadership skills
    • Strong influencing skills
    • Certification and at least one year experience teaching at least one industry-standard leadership class, such as SLII, The Leadership Challenge, Crucial Conversations, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People
    • Ability to think quickly and adjust delivery for a unique audience
    • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills including presenting
    • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, and/or engineering environments
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)

    Desired

    • Master’s Degree in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, I/O Psychology, or a related field
    • Experience working on projects with a diverse team
    • Experience in virtual classroom, instructor-led, mobile, and other learning modalities
    • Leadership coaching certification
    • Ability to travel domestically up to 15%
