As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of learning professionals, you will use technology and graphical tools to design and create learner-centric, performance-based instructional materials.  You will work with a variety of subject matter experts to create informal, formal, and certification-track online and hybrid courses for highly technical (we build rockets, after all) and leadership topics. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. This position reports into the Human Resources team, and provides instructional design services to all areas of the organization.


    • Gather job requirements data through surveys and interviews and perform task and gap analyses.
    • Facilitate discovery sessions with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams.
    • Create design documents, storyboards, prototypes, instructor, and participant materials.
    • Propose and design innovative learning solutions supported by adult learning theory.
    • Ensure that learning deliverables are of highest quality and exceed the needs of the internal learning customer.
    • Provide input into work plan creation, advising on time and resources necessary to create a learning solution.
    • Use Articulate 360 and/or HTML 5 to design and develop engaging, memorable online and mobile learning.
    • Create assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions using key performance metrics.
    • Follow a modular, standardized process to create learner-centered, performance-based training that is flexible, adaptable, and scales gracefully
    • Manage multiple, complex projects with tight deadlines and time-critical deliverables through their entire life cycle



  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, communication, psychology, or related discipline that focuses on learning
  • 5+ years of design and development of technology-based instructional materials in a technical environment covering a variety of technical and management/leadership skills
  • Familiarity with ADDIE and SAM
  • Expertise with elearning development applications such as Articulate 360, Captivate, Lectora
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML/CSS/XML
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills including presenting
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)





  • Master’s Degree in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Learning Technology, or a related field
  • Experience working on projects with a geographically dispersed team
  • Experience in virtual classroom, instructor-led, mobile, and other learning modalities
  • Instructional video and audio production and editing experience
  • Gamification and simulation creation experience
